Resolve facial sagging with a non-surgical, reversible facelift providing 5 to 10 years of rejuvenation
With time the signs accumulate on the face: appearance of jowls, nasolabial folds, bitterness folds and sagging cheekbones are inevitable.
This is in part due to a slippage of facial fat, the volume of which increases slightly with age, and which tends to shift under the effect of gravity. With the consequence of a rupture of the oval of the face.
Tension threads (or notched threads or suspension threads)
The non-absorbable notched yarn consists of a polyester core yarn with a silicone cover. Absorbable toothed threads are generally composed of L-polylactic acid, which is completely absorbable in 1 year.
These biocompatible materials, which have been used for more than 50 years in medicine, guarantee a reaction-free intervention.
Small size notches distributed on the wire allow the fabrics to be hung while respecting them. Very fine, of absolute discretion, they will allow the various areas to be treated on the face to be relocated.
Their constitution allows them to be easily located with an ultrasound and, if necessary, they can be removed easily at any time. The face will then return to its initial configuration.
The results
The overall results, obtained without surgery, are spectacular: facial rejuvenation generally estimated between 5 to 10 years. It is a natural embellishment.
The durability of non-absorbable threads is very important with almost no loss of effectiveness and visible effects for 4 to 5 years.
Absorbable threads disappear completely within a year.
The threads used are undetectable, absolutely discreet, and they can be placed on all patients from 30 to 60 years old, whatever the type of skin, the history in terms of facelift, smokers or non-smokers. .
Procedure for laying notched wires
The technique of laying tension threads is essential for the quality and durability of the result.
What are the key points?
Firstly two notched wires are implanted and positioned on either side of the lower half of the patient's face, positioned in the fat areas concerned, in order to lift the tissues without creating folds or dimples.
Next, two other tensor threads are implanted on each side of the scalp. They will bind to the threads previously placed at the level of the cheeks and going up towards the top of the skull create the tension which will guarantee the correct positioning of the cheeks.
The positioning of the threads by Dr. Desouches and their interaction, the resulting forces, is therefore essential for the quality and naturalness of the result obtained.
Simple local anesthesia is performed before each intervention. Dr Desouches will use a very fine needle allowing him to inject the product superficially. No risk of injury is to be feared, the operation lasts about 60 to 90 minutes.
The initial consultation
The initial consultation is an opportunity to examine the face, discuss the defects to be corrected and explain the expected results to you.
Dr Desouches will advise you and specify the limits of the treatment if they concern you, such as:
- The loss of elasticity due to the aging of the deep layers of the skin of the face; in some cases only surgical facelift is indicated,
- Aging of the surface layers of the skin of the face with the presence of deep wrinkles; in this case, prior skin rejuvenation treatment may be necessary.
Finally, this consultation makes it possible to search for situations or antecedents that may require rules of caution.
Complications
As with any aesthetic medicine action, certain reactions may occur such as swelling, hematoma, itching, tenderness at the sites where the tensor threads are placed, which generally resolve within a few days.
Operative suites
The postoperative effects are generally not very painful. Edema can appear and usually takes 3 to 5 days to resolve.
After placing the notched sutures, the patient should have a 7-day rest period.
Important information
This text provides basic information on the principles and the installation of tension threads. A good understanding of the process and the expected result is essential before considering this intervention. If your wishes are realistic, you will be satisfied with the result.
