Why increase lip volume?
Lip augmentation can be done to improve the appearance of thin or sagging lips, or to create a more defined contour. It can also be used to correct asymmetries or to bring about a more drastic change in the appearance of the lips.
How is it done?
Hyaluronic acid injection
Injectables (usually products made fromhyaluronic acid) are considered a less invasive and less expensive option to lip augmentation surgery. They are made by using a thin syringe to inject the filler into the lips. The results are usually temporary and can last from a few months to a year, depending on the product used.
The current trend: Russian lips, Russian Lips injections or even Russian Lips spinner, a technique based on hyaluronic acid to obtain luscious and glamorous lips.
Surgery
Lip augmentation surgery involves an incision in the lip, usually near the lip line. Fat taken from the patient's body is then deposited in the lip to give it more volume. The surgery is usually performed under anesthesia and may require a short hospital stay. The results of surgery are generally longer lasting than those of injectables, but they can also be associated with a number of risks and potential side effects.
Lip rejuvenation
These different techniques, used alone or in combination, also make it possible to restore a more youthful appearance to the mouth.
Wrinkles related to muscle hypertonia can be reduced by injections of botulinum toxin.
. Wrinkles secondary to solar aging can be reduced by filling or requiring smoothing by abrasion.
